Parents pressuring for GCSE A Level results
While the exam fiasco continues at a pace. There is now evidence that parents and pupils have regularly put pressure on their teachers
Large numbers of teachers have been put under pressure from pupils and parents alter GCSE and A Level grades in the summer of 2021.
Despite warnings from the various exam boards.
One in four reported that parents had put pressure on to change the evidence going towards their Teacher and centre assessed GCSE and A-level grades. While a third reported pressure from pupils.
"We have had so many emails from parents threatening legal action, telling us that we don't know how to do our jobs, getting clarification of what we are doing 'for when they appeal if their kid doesn't get the grade they need'," a state school head of science marking GCSEs and A levels said.
This is more evidence that schools should treat all pupils as private candidates. Removing teachers from the whole enterprise of assessements.
