What makes a good GCSE and A level exam experience for private candidates

Here at the Private candidate site we believe we understand what a good exam experience looks like.

These include some of the points below:

Professionalism of the exam centre manager and invigilator. This includes clear instructions.

A calming atmosphere. Noise free throughout. Including from the outside .

Good clean and as much day light lighting as possible. - Windows open only if the noise is to a low level.

Zero disruption. The fewer exam candidates the better in the exam centre.

Familiarity including the atmospherics of the building. E.g. Temperature. and air conditioning.

Access to parking

It is worth doing a pre run practice trip to make sure your timings are good.

The start of exams are not too early and not too late.

Does the exam centre provide spare writing implements including table and chairs.

Big clocks which are on time!

Formalness, has a reason. Exams are important. Dress for everyone is smart. If the exam centre isnt smartly dressed then alarm bells should ring.
