Going forward, We are strongly hoping that coursework and non exam asssessments are kept to a mininmum. While aiming for 0 course work and non exam asssesments for the GCSE and A level exams of 2022.
Why:
We think coursework and non exam assessments tie pupils up into a poor assessement model. While further giving schools a mis endevenor. Focussing the school on long term assessement rather than actual learning.
The aim of 0 Course work is a lofty one. The likihood of it happening are close to 0 too. However, the aim is a sensible one.
We accept that the forces at play in the education industry is full of unions and those who want schools to have assessement powers. This in turn gives them political power as threats of strikes keeps schools in suspended amination.
Goes to add that the non exam assessment vaues is what makes private candidates so valuable. It is the thinking man's choice. If they can learn where the best place to learn and sit exams in the best place for exams for them. Then it forces all the learning providers to up their game.
